Neosoft Technologies Delivers Two USRP X440-Based 32×32 MIMO Systems for Advanced Wireless Research

Neosoft Technologies has completed the design and integration of two 32×32 MIMO systems built around Ettus Research / NI’s USRP X440 SDR platform.
These systems provide a complete and robust infrastructure for advanced multi-antenna experimentation, signal-processing research, and SDR development within a university laboratory.

🔧 A system-level engineering approach

Neosoft was responsible for delivering a turnkey solution, covering hardware selection, synchronization architecture, rack integration, and final validation.

32×32 MIMO Architecture

Each system includes:

  • 32 transmit channels

  • 32 receive channels

  • shared timing and reference clocks

  • precise PPS distribution

  • optimized RF cabling to minimize loss

This architecture supports demanding multi-channel experimental setups.

Optimized DELL servers for high-throughput SDR workloads

To sustain the data rates of the USRP X440, Neosoft performed:

  • complete performance analysis

  • processor and NIC selection

  • high-throughput network configuration

  • optimized storage layout

  • validation of continuous, lossless data streaming

This ensures stable operation during intensive SDR sessions.

Advanced synchronization infrastructure

Multi-channel SDR systems rely heavily on timing accuracy.
Neosoft deployed a full synchronization setup including:

  • centralized 10 MHz reference clock

  • PPS distribution

  • low-loss RF cabling

  • channel-to-channel timing validation

  • system-level coherence testing

The result is a stable and predictable MIMO test environment.
